The Fallen
Autumn leaves
floating,
falling,
swirling,
twirling,
dancing through the air.
Gently landing
over a crispy
golden brown
covered ground
where the remains
of the first fallen lie.
The music ends.
Their dance complete.
Patiently waiting,
waiting for
the peaceful serenity
of angelic snow–
kisses from God
to fall from the sky
and cover them
with a radiant blanket
of white glistening snow.
Leaves dance gracefully with joy
as they tumble from the trees
for they know the truth.
The truth of the fallen.
After you fall,
you transform,
improve,
become like new,
even more beautiful
and spectacular
than you ever
were before.
