I don’t want to cry
and wonder why
I was stuck,
immobilized,
unable to be
all that I was meant to be.
Waste no more time.
Set my spark
until I sparkle,
until I glitter,
until I shine,
so brightly
that all you see
is the beauty
living inside me.
I must become what I was meant to be,
so all I see
and all you see
is the real me
living inside me.
The me that has become free
of the drain of pain,
the stain of rain
from tears I have shed
and wounds that have bled.
I want to become the real me.
The better me.
The brighter me.
The me buried beneath me.
I want to be the me
I was always meant to be.
