Negative self talk is very inefficient and can lead you down a path of self-destruction.
Change your negative self talk into positive self talk. Positive affirmations strengthen us and can help you change your mindset. Keep using positive affirmations until you believe in yourself. Of course, it is much more difficult to do this, when we are in the midst of a depression or facing other difficult struggles in our lives, but it is essential and the journey will be well worth it.
The following video is a skit called “Daily Affirmations” by Stuart Smalley from “Saturday Night Live” back in 1991.
Stuart Smalley is a caring nurturer. A member of several 12 step programs, but not a licensed therapist. He says, “I am a good enough. I am smart enough and doggone it, people like me.”
Michael Jordan is in this video and I think it is hilarious. Even though this skit is for comedy and they are making light of this, I think Stuart Smalley has something here. What he is saying is helpful, important and valuable.
Even though it is silly, say, “I am good enough. I’m smart enough and doggone it, people like me.”
It will help you feel better and it will make you SMILE.
