Yay! I Have Been Nominated for the “Blogger Appreciation Award”

I am very happy and honored to be nominated for the Blogger Appreciation Award.

I was nominated by Ashley, who has an awesome and informative blog that is full of wonderful information and insights. Ashley is a great writer and very knowledgeable about mental illness as a mental illness survivor, as well as being a mental health nurse. This gives her a great and interesting perspective to share her knowledge, experience and stories.

She is a wonderful mental health advocate and I love her for wanting to combat mental illness stigma, as much as I do. Here is a link to her blog titled Mental Health at Home. Please check out her blog. I am sure you will love it as much as I do.

Thank you Ashley for nominating me. I appreciate it greatly and am very happy and honored that you read my blog and like it.  Thank you very much from the very bottom of my heart and soul and to the tips of my toes.

It honestly makes me very happy to get nominated for this award, especially by such a great blogger and beautiful lady and person like yourself.

I love the blog awards for a few reasons. One reason is, of course, because I am thankful and flattered to be nominated. Secondly, is because they are a great way to learn more about other bloggers and a great way to discover new blogs.

I am supposed to write a paragraph of something positive about myself, so here it is:

I have a good heart, full of compassion and love. God gave me that at a very  young age. I have always wanted to help others, since I was very young. Seeking out those less fortunate than myself, the broken, hurting, anyone I thought needed cheering up and that I could help in some way.

I taught Special Education for over ten years until my bipolar symptoms became too severe to teach. I loved teaching children with severe cognitive and physical disabilities and always said I got paid to give love.

However,  God had other plans for my life as I could no longer teach. Eventually, after many years, I finally got well enough to live my life, accept my diagnosis and make a new identity for myself. No matter what I do in life, I want to help people in some capacity. It is who I am and brings me great joy and love in my heart to help others.

I believe I have gone through the many struggles and obstacles in my life, so that I would find God and become born again and to become a mental illness advocate. My purpose in life is my children and to help people with mental illness and people facing any struggles in their lives by sharing my story and educating about mental illness as much as I can and in as many ways as I can. I pray I can be an inspiration to others and help others in some way.

I have a huge passion and determination to keep educating about mental illness, increasing awareness and to keep fighting to end mental illness stigma and prevent suicide.
