One-Way Ticket to Bipolar

I got a one-way ticket to bipolar,

and there was no turning back.

Once I reached bipolar,

I could never completely leave,

as it would always be my destination.

Unable to leave bipolar completely,

I had to accept it as part of my home.

My journey has been difficult, scary, sad, lonely,

and devastatingly horrific at times,

traveling alone on a very long,

dark, slippery, dangerous and bumpy road,

full of much loss, sorrow, hardships and many obstacles in my way.

Now I have a one way ticket to recovery,

and there is no turning back.

My only direction is onward, forward, and upward.

There have been,

and will continue to be

more bumps and holes,

dark, slippery and winding roads

along the way,

but I will continue

on my long journey

of survival and recovery,

and hope, faith and love,

with God faithfully walking

beside me, each step of the way.
