I am a little cranky
and I need a little hanky,
because I don’t want to go to work,
not the night before Easter.
not tonight
it’s not right.
I am a little cranky
and I need a little hanky,
because I have too much to do.
before Easter Sunday.
I am a little cranky
and I need a little hanky,
because I still need to roll-out my cookies,
cut them into Easter and spring shapes,
frost them and add beautiful sugar sprinkles.
I am a little cranky
and I need a little hanky,
because I still need to be the Easter bunny
and fill up plastic Easter eggs
with chocolate candy and jelly beans,
and hide them throughout the house.
I am a little cranky
and I need a little hanky,
because I need to fill up my children’s Easter baskets
with more candy and gifts,
even though they are 25, 23 and 16,
they will always be my babies.
I am a little cranky
and I need a little hanky,
because I need to finish cooking
my yummy Easter ham, potatoes and more,
for part of our Easter Sunday celebration and tradition.
I am a little cranky
and I need a little hanky,
because I will have to stay up very late,
maybe all night,
or close to it,
to complete everything I love to do,
for all of my Easter traditions,
before going to Easter morning church service.
I am a little cranky
and I need a little hanky,
because tomorrow is Easter Sunday
and besides completing
all my other Easter traditions,
I must have enough time
to celebrate the true meaning
and reason for Easter Sunday.
The death and miraculous resurrection of Jesus Christ are the most important events of the Christian faith.
Jesus defeated the power of sin and death.
If God could raise Jesus from the dead, then we have hope and know that we will be raised to live eternally in God’s presence.
Jesus died on the cross so our sins would be forgiven,
and then Jesus was resurrected,
He rose from the dead.
He is alive!
On Easter Sunday we celebrate that Jesus rose from the dead.
Hallelujah!
I cannot be cranky
and I don’t need a hanky,
because Jesus rose from the dead.
He’s alive!
He’s alive!
He’s alive
and I’m forgiven,
heavens gates are open wide!
Hallelujah!
Jesus is alive!
